Hollyoaks will go off air for two months due to a four-month break in filming which came as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, bosses said on Tuesday.
The show – set in Liverpool – suspended production in March but has now resumed filming with social distancing measures and temperature checks in place for cast and crew.
Due to the suspension of filming and the subsequent shortage of episodes to air, it will temporarily go off-air from Tuesday 21st July until September when it will air four episodes a week, down from the usual five.
The resumption of production comes after both Coronation Street and Emmerdale restarted filming in June.
